Mines....are they some kind of boomerang mines????)

I have equipped a pair of mine layers which drop proximity mines.
What I am wondering is if this is just a bug on my machine or if this
is just how they work. Besides being more or less useless the mines
after being dropped behind me will re-appear in front of me after
leaving radar limit. I have been passing my own mines for quite a while
now and it just seems odd as I am flying full speed away from them.

Besides not being very efficient at what they do, like creating massive explosions
full of stuff to dissuade my pursuer they also keep appearing ahead of my ship
which kill my immersion somewhat, which I think is not their intended target or
is it?

So in short, does this just happen on my machine?
and if not....well then that really breaks the mines.

If I remember rightly there is a known bug on mines.

I think they are getting a buff in 1.3 and possibly a fix on this bug too, I think Frontier have already tried to fix it once.

Mines have a tendency, depending on weapon hardpoint placement, to continue to follow the inertia of the ship. For example, the forward facing hardpoints on the Type-7 and Type-9 will actually launch mines very, very far in front of you, which can be mildly irritating. Mines are a bit tricky to play with, and as of current they also do next to nothing for damage, but, 1.3 will hopefully fix that with the buffs that are incoming.

I have only ever seen the mines do operate with the teleport bug. I have used the mines quite a bit. I can actually kill chasing enemies with them. (only NPC so far) Strangely part of what makes the mines effective IS the teleport bug. The mines wrap around the screen and they build up in number until someone hitting one becomes inevitable.

It's a mess.

Why has it not been fixed?
