Engineers Mining and Materials; management overhead...

Yes.

I went out to do some mining, and all of a sudden, my limpets stopped collecting the ore... Guess what? Materials was full... So, I had to discard a lot of it so that my limpets could start collecting again.

I had to repeat this proceedure a bunch of times, which makes mining not as fun as it used to be.

It would be nice to be able to tell the limpets to stop collecting the materials, or that there would be an automatic thing going on that just discards the material if my storage is full (with a text warning). But, don't make the limpets stop picking up the stuff that should go to the refinery.

If this can't be done, is there a way to sell the materials?

Yep been doing some mining in my cutter, and this annoys the hell out of me.

I like the idea that you can get some mats from asteroids, but as my mats total averages about 580 ish, when I do a full mining run to fill 500+ cargo space with 12 collectors, I seem to spend more time micro-managing my mats, than actually blasting rocks...

I'm hoping this is something that was overlooked by FD, and will get sorted in some way.

Be great if we had a filter function for collectors, a bit like the navigation one, save picking up all the rubbish or unwanted mats.

As to what to do with the unwanted mats, can't sell them, either use them for synthesis, or dump them I'm afraid...

I've been dumping large quantities of the more common materials. I guess it could get annoying when strip mining (which is pretty much the most profittable route at the moment with all of the missions available).

I wouldn't mind having to discard Materials, but, the way it works right now, you can only discard one by one. Would be nice to be able to do something similar to what you do when you jettison cargo; select the material and then select how many of it you want to discard. Right now it is just tedious. :)

EDIT: OHH...you can do that!!! Nice!!!! :D
