Mining Background Glare?.

Have recently returned to mining after a while away. There is a pristine metallic ring near my home base. Arriving there I dropped out at a painite hotspot only to find that the background is so glaringly white that it is really hard to make out whether an asteroid is any good until right on top of it. Also after a couple of hours I have eyestrain and a headache. When I look at video's on You Tube they all seem to have the dark of sp[ace background and the asteroids are brown all the way into the distance but that is not what I found today. Other than mining I haven't had any problems like this in gamepl

ay?.

Once the rocks are broken they create quite a dust storm. If that is the cause, you should be able to drive out of it within the ring.

Thanks for the replies, it isn't just after a rock has been blasted open it is all the time. The background in the pic above is how I have it all the time while in the ring. There is no recent mining activity as I have never seen another ship there other than the nvp's that scan you on arrival. It is a pristine metallic ring in a pretty desolate area. I have checked out a couple of videos on You Tube and they also seem to have a similar background it may be that mine is affecting my eyes more as I am playing on a 42" 4K widescreen tv monitor. I have the tv graphics set to "Game" mode which cancels out all of the contrast, colour, etc controls. Perhaps I could darken the background via the game graphics but am unsure what to alter?.

As noted, some rings have more dust than others.

The most straightforward solution is to find a different ring.

You could also turn down the fog quality. It's part of the "FX" graphics setting.

Since starting this thread I have found that it is not so much of a problem in ice rings but for me anyway a huge problem in a pristine metallic ring near me and I do use night vision while mining.
