My friend just said he wished drones were in the game, but then I thought this didn't really fit the FPS that Elite Dangerous is. However for mining it would make a ton of sense. Having to fly yourself to scoop up pieces of rock you just chipped off is not efficient and if ED truly is hundreds of years into the future, then drone technology should be able to retrieve said pieces of rock. There is just no way our radio signals can't reach that far out, and that unmanned drones are too weak to move rocks in space where there is little to no gravity to hinder them.
I just thought this would be an awesome little bonus feature to speed up mining and make it less dull. But on a sidenote I do not want combat capable drones. I think ED should stay dronefree in its combat enviornment.
