Mining gear or just SRV for raw materials

How is everyone planning to replenish raw materials going forward? I.e. is anyone carting around a mining laser or are you relying on SRVs alone?

I shouldn't have any desperate need, so I'll pick some up with the SRV whenever I land for a nose about and that should see me through.

Definitely an SRV is more efficient. But Macedonica principle teaches us to always carry a mining laser, just in case...

I'll have my SRV. Right now I plan to get some arsenic just in case I need to double my jump range occasionally. I have an abundance of all other materials thankfully.

I planned to carry a mining laser as an alternative to gathering mats with the SRV, but during the two mining CGs we did along the way I realized how poor the drop rate is for materials from asteroids. I ditched the lasers at Explorer's Anchorage.

I have both, but have not found the need to use the laser yet. I only need the matts for AFMU refils and you can get that easily off a surface of a planet.

If i had known that before leaving EA then i would of ditched the laser. Also loaded up 2 modules of heat sinks for the "just in case" moment. Not realising you cant restock with matts alone, i wish i never had them too.

The mining laser is sort of an emergency backup, just in case you lose your SRVs, or are stuck in a system with rings but no landable worlds, and are out of jumponium, but need it to escape that system. Not that it's ever happened to anyone on these forums.

I topped up on any materials I am likely to need before leaving the bubble, and only have SRVs for gathering more. I do have 4 SRVs so hopefully they will be enough.

Usually I use SRV's for that. I do have mining lasers with me, as I'm a Hull Seal and can help out others with emergency material gathering.
