Mining hotspots - depletion question

Say there is like 1000 void opal rocks in the hot spot.

Is it the case that if a bunch were mined in the centre, would that affect the entire hotspot, or are the 1000 found throughout the hotspot. So you might find some in the center, some in the 100 KM width radius surrounding that, some more in the 100Km width radius surrounding the last radius etc?

Fd demonstrated (or claimed to demonstrate) that each roid is individual. If someone explodes one, that particular roid is exploded for everyone for a period of a week or more.
It is probably calculated when the instance is created, if you were worried that a roid might just explode in front of you for no readily apparent reason.

On a related question, will a depleted hotspot still show as a hotspot in the DSS?

I've dropped into a VO hotspot in a supposedly pristine icy ring, quite a long way from the centre but still in the bright yellow bit, and I haven't found anything except methanol and methane clathrate. How densely packed are the good asteroids?

Do I just need to look for longer?
