Mining Laser for fuel. Do I need a refinery?

Back at Colonia updating my build and thought I'd ship a mining laser for the purpose of extracting fuel should the need arise. Question is, do I need a refinery too?

I assume you mean jump boost materials? If so, no you don't need a refinery for gathering mats with a mining laser.

Oooh... intriguing. But isn't it easier to find them on planets with an SRV?

The point is that you maybe stuck somewhere without a planet to land on. It's another option. Plus you can shoot things if your bored.

True dat, but then I was hoping there was some easy way to mine for jumponium. Or if not easy, at least reliable. How do you even know what a ring will drop mat wise?

Yeah, don't go mining for very rare elements. Those are landfall only.
