Mining Laser thermal overload

I've rebooted the ship's system and still getting the error, I posted a question on youtube for LikesTheBacon who gave me understanding concerning this issue and how to assign weapon slots. I wonder should I up grade the power plant on my Adder or a power distributor. I only have about 20k credits and mining off of Coli City in a high distribution site isn't giving me much to shout about. I wonder if i should get a prospector limpet to get the best. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Wait, what's your actual issue? Is it the thermal load from your mining laser or not using prospectors?

If it's your thermal load, heat sinks would NOT be a good idea since mining is such a time consuming activity. Upgrading your power plant is your best bet. It doesn't have to be the highest class but A-rated power plants manage heat the best.

(And DEFINITELY use prospector limpets if you have the internal slot for it.)

I second the use of a Prospector Limpet Controller. Makes mining much more efficient. Bring plenty of Limpets. Then you can pick and choose only the asteroids with the good stuff.
Also, make sure you are mining in the right places for the high value ore. The most sought after are usually Metallic rings with Pristine Reserves. Find a Resource Extraction site, drop out of Supercruise, and fly away from the Rez Beacon, about 15km. Start prospecting and you will see the money start to come in.

Using prospector limpets has two advantages: 1. you can see what you're mining so you can skip the low value stuff, and 2. increases the number of fragments you get from a rock.

when using mining lasers you need to make sure you have full pips into weapons and have a A ranked power distributer or you will run out of power fast, they drain power very quickly. A good power plant is also recommended for optimal heat management.
