This is not related to what was proposed in the OP... Why drawing conclusion on something which hasn't been brought up by the OP in the first place ? I don't understand.

My posting is not limited to just agreeing with an OP, you know. I am allowed to think of new things, and suggest stuff beyond your original idea.

Giving the SLF the prospecting capacity of limpets would be a big advantage to MC, allow the helm to switch prospectors to collection limpets, and make a little more money for everyone.

+1. It's a good suggestion. Anything that can potentially make mining more fun gets my vote. I doubt it's all that easy, but it certainly doesn't seem like the most Herculean of tasks, given that the majority of it's elements are already in-game, in some form.

That's a fair question you've asked, AskedQuestion. I can't speak to what Frontier originally intended in this regard, but I've been posting here in similar manner for the past few years. Lots of people do - it seems to be more-or-less normal practise here. So long as replies are at least vaguely on-topic* - and seem intended to be helpful to a given conversation - it's fair enough, I think. Threads consisting exclusively of agree- or disagree-posts would make for a very dull forum, after a while.

You're the first person I can recall actually questioning this. No-one at FD, nor any of the mods, have made objections to this common practise that I've seen - generally, the only interventions I do see tend to be for obvious trolling, megathread-baiting and uncivil conduct. Of course, it's always possible that they all just pretend to be out whenever they see my posts. God knows I would.


*(That said, I do go properly off-topic, sometimes. I try to be respectful and mindful of the OP's interests, though, apologising when I know I'm being too digressive. Generally, no-one seems to mind enough to complain, the only exception I can recall being a back-and-forth between myself and another poster that really did need pruning.)

I reacted the way I did to Teh Smoo's comment because it confuses the message from my little point of view.

I, and apparently, others before me, suggested something very simple. And I can't emphasis "very simple" enaugh. It's just a different setup for the SLF that we are proposed with.
It's not a complicated thing to do, and improves quality of life, and multi-crew by a fair lot for those interested, WITHOUT making minning suddenly OP.

Bringing more suggestions, although very interesting, turn what I estimated a simple adjustment, more complicated, asking probably for more development time.
Hence my reaction. Now, I'm not a native english speaker, as it probably was obvious , and maybe I did not completely understand the intention behind that post.
Of course I did not intend to say that you are not allowed to suggest ideas Teh Smoo. I was merely afraid that it just could bring a little confusion as to what was behind my OP : The smallest adjustment possible that still brings a big improvement. I think if we want to have a chance of seing such things happen, we should try to keep it as simple as possible to be appealing to the devs. Nothing more
