Mining LTD at Col 285 Sector XN-D A28-2

So I got back to the bubble after my Colonia trip to have full Engineering access before the Odyssey release, and thought I would earn some credits to replace what I spent on the tritium cost of my trip.
I've earnt most of my credits from trading and delivery missions, but since the balancing nerf in game trading is a joke, and I hate pew pew missions, so boring mining it is!
Looked at the latest youtube vids to get up to date, sorted my ship out and headed to the triple hot spot at Col 285 Sector and started looking for the LTD's.
Well it's been over and hour and a half and not one asteroid has a core of LTD's. I've run into 3 that I can mine with laser and a handful of Tritium asteroids.
What the hell am I doing wrong?!?

LTDs got nerfed into the ground and are not worth pursuing. The current laser-mining-meta is mostly Platinum and/or Painite. And just general core mining will get you better results than chasing LTDs.

How old was your 'latest youtube vid'?

LTD was not nerfed. The prices were 'nerfed'

Better is to go laser mining for LTD in icy rings if you really want to go after LTD

Looked at the latest youtube vids to get up to date,

That was the mistake, You did not look at the latest you looked at old videos...
Anything older than before November 2020 is out of date...
Up to date videos are platinum/osmium laser mining...
Or
Rocky ring Core mining if you must do core mining...

Ice ring mining was nerfed in july 2020 were fdev Specifically stated High price items Like LTD in Ice ring Would have less content generation in rings and be way rarer to find in ice rings... All Ice ring content generation was reduced making Ice ring mining for high price items way way harder than any other ring type..
In November the rebalnce reduced the price of all Ice ring High price items and Boosted the price of rocky ring lower items making the RNG Core prices in rocky rings out pay ice rings...

Have a look at some of the wing mining missions - if you like earning money with "delivery" missions you can get a lot of it really quickly that way, in the right place, without having to actually do any mining.

I'll go and change my set up and give that a go.
Cheers Cmdr

You checked a YouTube video on where to mine, so you can safely assume there’s a whole lot of other CMDR’s doing the same.

Since you mentioned you didn’t find any core astroids, let me explain how cores work.
If anyone core-mines an astroid, that astroid will be depleted for everyone (not sure if console/PC are seperate, does anyone know?) for 6 days.

If you want to do core mining, you’re better off going for the more remote systems and keep the mining locations to yourself.

For laser mining the above story does not apply.
