You will find lots of nickel at gas vents and geysers. Make sure you fit a DSS so you can probe the planet and get the locations. As said above use an SRV to shoot the minerals off the vents then collect as normal. You’ll know what to shoot at as they show up as white squares on your radar.

Thanks alot. One last thing please i've got horizons, does your ship come with a srv. Or do you have to buy one. Only landed at ports. Eg engineers

Yes you’ll need to purchase a planetary vehicle hangar, which is an optional internal. Then you can buy an SRV for that hangar.

Nickel is a grade 1 Raw material in Raw category 5.
It would be better to farm the Category 5 Grade 3 material (Tungsten) or Grade 4 material (Tellerium) and convert them to nickel at a Raw Materials Trader.

At the crash site in the system Orrere on 2 B (coordinates 43.827, -173.969 (just use a detailed surface scanner), you can get Antimony (Cat 7 Grade 4), Ruthenium (Cat 3 Grade 4), Tellerium (Cat 5 Grade 4), Tungsten (Cat 5 Grade 3).

If you look at the conversion rate table on the first link, a single Grade 4 material in the same category (Tellerium) will give you 81 Grade 1 Nickel. A grade 3 (Tungsten) will give you 27 Nickel each.

It is far more efficient to go after higher grade materials.
