Mining opportunity

Thanks for the tip!

If I may use this thread for a short question about surface prospecting (easiest way is to give an example):
I am looking for Tungsten and look up a planet with high content on EDDB. But I don't have a scanner (DSS) with me. If I land on the planet without scanning it, does that influence the likelihood of finding Tungsten?

I don't think it would but it is a good question. The game defies intuition frequently. I have gone in blind on planet surfaces before and still found what i was supposed to find after looking at what it contained afterwards.

Ok, thanks. I guess I had bad luck then, after not scanning the planet I had difficulties to find what I want. But I didn't look that long, so might be just my laziness.

Don't think it makes any difference to the likelihood of spawn once you land but many planets don't contain particular materials so the material you want may never spawn if you randomly land on a planet.

Note: I popped down there last night and lots of mining missions, mostly for ice rings. I little scanning later and I found a system with every ring type in it, all of them pristine! The Ice ring is >4kls from the sun so not ideal but nice to find a one stop shop :)
