Mining Pirates At EVERY Location

EVERY single time i go mining when i first drop into a ring there's ALWAYS... EVERYTIME.... an NPC ship of varying description wanting to rob me & the same thing happens when i take a break and then come back and login.

Now i get that in the bubble with the mining rush that there would be increased pirating at pristine sites, that makes sense but i am over 200ly from Colonia mining in a pristine ring in an unpopulated system and there is still someone there. The chances of running into anyone out here is remote but not impossible but every single time or every time i login?

Seems very unlikely to me

Yep, it's completely out of wack. Pirates will spawn in the middle of no-where as soon as you decide to mine.

There are ALWAYS NPC pirates at EVERY mining area and there are very simple ways to avoid them:
Never, EVER carry any cargo inventory into a mining area. If you have any cargoes in your cargo racks, sell or jettison them before going mining. Pirates ignore materials, data, limpets and FRESHLY mined ores but, once you leave a mining area for any reason and enter SC (or log out) those refined ores become CARGO and are subject to piracy. If you have to leave a mining area for any reason (to buy more limpets, get 8 hours sleep, eat dinner, etc.) always SELL or donate your refined ores before returning. Never carry any refined ores to another mining area. If you enter SC they become cargo.

Even if you have no cargo, NPC pirates will still show up but if you have no cargo they will just scan you, complain about how poor you are and they will leave.

Except that in the last 2 days, while mining in the bubble, the only NPCs I saw were a sidewinder and a type-6 mining together...
These were hotpots in ice rings, for void opals and lt diamonds... Not a pirate in sight...
Of course I was armed.

Now I've said it of course, the pendulum will swing back and I'll see wings of hyper aggressive fdls and fgss... Oh well, my python can take it.

Actually, just after Christmas, I was scanned by an NPC who then complained about my lack of cargo and then attacked me anyway... I had no weapons at the time, and only exploration shields, so I just legged it.

I think the point is more the fact that they always appear rather than how to avoid them.
I agree, it's just weird really.
But I have hope: a couple of times lately I have encountered search & rescue and no pirates.

Nah, I've been in a few with none. And if a ship appear stay in middle of an exploded astro, they cannot see you

It's annoying and breaks the so-called immersion, particularly away from the Bubble, LYs away from population (how do these these limited range ships get there in the first place?). When I mine locally, I use a Corvette that has the shields and enough firepower to kill the pirates. I've mined once under the new system so I don't know the current spawn rate.

I imagine I'll try it again when they release the next patch which is bound to have some changes.

I've reported it as a bug, because it is, at the very least, a serious design flaw. Here's the link in case you'd like to officially add to the report:

Those pirates are a pest and a pain.

I have no interest in engaging them: all they do is waste my time until they disappear. And if real life intervenes and I have to interrupt my mining session - well, that's the session over because when I return I'll have cargo in my hold and in those circumstances the pirate isn't just going to waste my time.

But isn't this supposed to be Elite Dangerous? No, it's a game I play for fun, and this just isn't fun, for me or, I suspect, the majority of players who go mining.

Dangerous does not mean magical, which these pirates are. From my report: "A planet's ring has the surface areas of many, many earths, yet no matter where I drop into a ring, there are pirates, and lately there are a LOT of pirates. When I'm a couple thousand lightyears outside the Bubble, where there is zero traffic in supercruise, the odds of encountering a single pirate ship in a ring should be greater than the odds of me winning the lottery."

If I advertise on this forum that I'll be operating within a 200 LY radius of a certain system sometime next week, and every griefer goes and picks a random spot in different rings in different systems within that bubble, the odds that any of them will be in the exact spot at the exact time where and when I drop out to do some mining are minuscule. It's just not going to happen. If it did, I'm buying that lottery ticket!

whatever you do try not to log out before getting rid (selling your cargo )if you must its a dead cert first thing youll be doing is boost and jumping , and cursing

I managed to (mostly) avoid them by enabling silent running and drifting FA off as soon as I saw them pop up on the sensor.

Once they're gone, they never come back. UNLESS you log off and back on, then they immediately spawn again

500ly from nearest station is the limit... and logging in with cargo, automatically spawn enemies ANYWHERE! This is a feature.

That used to be the case, but yesterday not only did the same ships come back, but new ships came in later! I'm not joking when I say it reminded me of a HAZRES, yet I was almost 300 LY outside the Bubble, and there was zero supercruise traffic (unless pirates now have stealth tech).

This was on PS4, if that makes a difference.
