When Asteroid mining in rings, how long till the asteroids recover or reset to there original setting?

Hmm, an interesting question, I have done some mining in rings a long time ago but as an opinion I would suggest since the area you are working in is an instanced area, they probably reset when the instance is re-initialised, but that can be easily tested if you happen to be ring mining by logging out and back in, resetting the instance. In theory the area should be regenerated with new rocks and anything that was there previously should be gone. Can you do a test logging out near a rock and back in to see if everything resets, just be aware there may be some danger logging in while in a ring.
There has been some discussion about new mining opportunities in Beyond featuring larger rocks and breakable rocks, these may be a different thing altogether, maybe actually placed in certain locations for players to mine, but as long as we are talking current it should be all instance based.
Asteroids are fixed, they don't rest their positions. Their content does refresh after 2 hours if that was the question.

Varonica: Mode switching chucked me above the rings when I logged in again, so mode switching does not help.

I am wondering how it will be managed in the 4th Quarter, when asteroids are getting "blowed up"... (respawning of them in general)
That's strange, mode switching hasn't caused me to be be chucked above the rings, it shouldn't in theory, it should just open a new instance in the same location, I will test it, what do other people experience when mode switching in rings?
That's the fix they put in to stop you spawning in a rock. It's not 100% effective, which is why I still fly above mass lock before logging out.
