Mining: Using the option to Jettison unwanted Ore in both Refinery and Cargo bay

Thing is if you don't have Useless cargo if you manage your Refinery. It not that hard.
I know how to manage the refinery, my post wasn't about managing the refinery it was about managing limpets.

* You run out of cargo space and want to transfer some cargo to your mining buddy/tender. You have to stop mining to transfer the cargo, otherwise your limpets will pick your cargo back up and ignore the pieces of rock.

Last night I had two limpets left and still some cargo to fill up. My tender had 1 limpet left. So while my mining limpets had their hands full with rocks, I sent 2 Gold out for my buddy to pick up. The refinery immediately filled the 2 cargo space they had left, and my limpets quickly deposited their rocks into the refinery and then they BOTH managed to beat my friend's single limpet to the two Gold.

THUS - I had lots of Platinum and Painite rocks floating around, and my two dumb limpets ignored them all were sat under my cargo hatch with the 2 rejected Golds that they could not drop.

Annoying and impossible to manage without turning limpets on/off which is a waste, and these were my last ones, or moving away from the mining area to do a transfer, which is dumb and tedious.

Not about managing the refinery.

Here the trick I do. You said your cargo hold was close to full. And you are still collecting a load of ore. Why not close your Hatch. Wait until your Limpits pick up all the ore. Then eject the gold? Then your friend Limpit would pick it up? It sounds like you make a problem to hard or something.

IF you are alone and want to eject old ore. Just make sure your ship full of cargo. Fill your Refinery with the ore you want to keep like Platinum and Painite I tend to have 5 or 6 of each in the Bins at 100%. I either wait until all my collectors are dead or Drop 1 or 2 at a time. Let the Other Limpits do the job collecting the Ores. Once they are fill the refieny. Then eject unwanted ore.

I Farm on a Type 9. With 6 collectors. Went back to a Python when I wanted a Vulture for combat.
