Hmm...I count that as upgrade actually >: I like Ody more.Hadn't noticed the downgrade until I went laser mining for the current CG.
I noticed the loss of smoke when overheating to. And the loss of freezing effect when running super cold (heatsink).Yep,
Odyssey is getting better no doubt, but some observations side to side with Horizon.
Some easy quickie comparison to check what improved and whats missing. Odyssey picture was taken using Ultra as graphics options to get the most of the new graphics settings. Horizon just regular custom preset. There are some things missing still in Odyssey, like the Gutamaya signature...forums.frontier.co.uk
though i was the only one having seen this
true that!I noticed the loss of smoke when overheating to. And the loss of freezing effect when running super cold (heatsink).
You still have the sound effect, but nothing else, which is very weird.
Don't forget the missing scratches on the glass.I noticed the loss of smoke when overheating to. And the loss of freezing effect when running super cold (heatsink).

I prefer the Horizons version myself.Hadn't noticed the downgrade until I went laser mining for the current CG.
I don't know where to even start with how reductive it is to shout "DOOOOOM" in every thread that is rightfully pointing out issues with EDO. Or should we just accept mediocrity and just never speak up about anything?I prefer the lack of comet contrails - they looked bloody daft as hell - but I apologise, return to your
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

No, it seems constructive criticism is somehow translated into DOOM/game dying/end of the world posts for some. Although a little ironic that Roofus is the only one screaming DOOM here... without his post there wouldn't be any mention of this.I don't know where to even start with how reductive it is to shout "DOOOOOM" in every thread that is rightfully pointing out issues with EDO. Yep, I've noticed all of those myself (the flickering of asteroid fog/god rays is particularly obnoxious) and raised them several times but have given up now as lighting is considered "fixed" which means Frontier will only react on a "loudest scream" basis. It's getting silly now - if FDev cba to keep their game at a certain standard on their own volition why bother. No, it seems constructive criticism is somehow translated into DOOM/game dying/end of the world posts for some. The things PStewart pointed out are indeed downgraded when compared to Horizons. I would say a DLC should be an improvement in general (or at least shouldn't take away things that are already in game) but here we are...
Wow that does look like mediocre garbage.I prefer the Horizons version myself.
Maybe someone should ask a CM to look into it.
It's bad enough that Odyssey is balls deep in bugs, but now it also takes away the small 'immersion' things?

The net effect is a loss of grandeur and inspiration from the game. Its far more damaging than I believe anyone has expressed.
Calm down.Well when people start responding to a thing that the devs know is broken and are working on it with sanctimonious waffle like:
What the actual hell do you want me to think?
"Thing in game is broken - WHOOOAH TIS THE ENDTIMES!"
"Calm down dear, it's just an advert." RIP Micheal Winner, who apparently was a bit of a toolCalm down.
