Whats the differance between mining at a resource point and an Asteroid mining?

The only differenzes are that in resource point you will find a lot more asteroids to mine, but its also more likly that you get scanned/attacked by pirates (npw or player). Otherwise they have the same mechanics.

Resource extraction points are in the rings of planets. Asteroid mining is at the asteroids usually close to the sun.
There are loads more rocks to mine in the rings and probably a greater chance of pirates.
You can drop into the rings away from the resource points and not be bothered though.

I've read somewhere that in the asteroid fiels there usually only minerals not Gold and platinum and expensive metals...
I think that is only dependent on the type of site (metallic, metal rich, etc.).
Really wish they would put a small tractor beam in so you can pick up the mined fragments easier.
I think they said that ther will be drones that can pick up the chunks. But they are against tracktor beams as far as i know.
