Minus turned to Plus after crash!

I've had a bit of troubble with crashes lately and even thou that has become much better in the last week, I insted have alot of "disconected from franchise server" and similar issues.
So when i left the game running while walkning the dog and then saw that the game had crashed when i got home, I just shugged it of and started the game again.
But when i got into my lion zoo again I noticed something very strange. During this weeks challenge, the lion zoo have gone from 10mill in profit to -20mill, since my lions eat for about 1mill each year :p
I knew this when I started the challenge so I didn't mind it. But now after the crash, the minus sign before the 20mill was gone!?!

I of course thought this was just a visual bug of some kind (even thou I have never seen anything similar before), so I opened the "nature" tab and to my big suprise, I could buy things!
Somehow, this crash made my minus 20mill to plus 20mill!!

So now I'm not really sure what to do. Should I spend all this money befor it's gone again cus of my hungry lions? should I just leave it and wait to see if the next crash turns it back into minus again? It doesn't really feel right to use the money, since I only have them cus of a bug.

Have any one else ever seen anything like this in the game?

Can I get banned for this?? :O But I didn't even do anything, I have no idea how it happened :( I don't mind at all if they go in and remove the money, cus they are only there cus of this wierd bug

You did not intentionally cause the minus to turn into a plus nor is there any way to not to some degree profit from the bug without seriously compromising your gaming experience. That and the fact that money is pretty much meaningless once your breeding zoo is operational should make you very much ban-proof for this.

Ye I really hope so, but I will have to wait and see what Frontier says. I explained the situation to them in the email when I sent over the savefile.
And like you say, the only way for me NOT to take "advantage" of the money (as it all went to feeding costs) was to not play that zoo at all after the bug, and since it was the zoo I specificly made for the challenge, that would mean I could no longer participate in the challenge, so that was not really an option.

Exactly. When you see a company penalising players for bugs they had no hand in you pretty much know they've gone bad. Most are very appreciative if you tell them that something is broken - even more so when you can provide helpful details - and just want you to have fun with their product. What I have seen of Frontier staff on forums and of customer support so far tells me they are firmly in the latter camp, so I doubt they even care that in this case the bug gave you a minor advantage, let alone punish you for that. I would rest easy in your place. :cool:

Are you sure it wasn't just the case that the last autosave for the game was at the point when the money was positive? If you were away from the computer after it had crashed you wouldn't have known the monetary situation at the time of the crash or prior to the previous autosave. Because this is a distinct possibility I doubt you will get in trouble over it.

Well that is not an option in this case. The most money I ever had in that zoo were +10million, and that was before I got the lions (over 100 of them). After that, I lost 1-1,5million each year, so those 10million were gone in just over a day. After that, I never went back to + again as it was impossible to make profit with the feedingcost beeing around 1.5-1.9 million each year. And I always manually save the game before I go afk, as I have experienced crashes before. So I am 100% certain that the money of the zoo was -20million when I went afk.
I think the chrash resulted in some kind of bug that just removed the minus sign before the money, since the amount of money stayed the same, it was just +20mill instead of -20mill.

Ty <3 Since this was such a wierd bug, I sent you an email about it instead including a savefile of the zoo, but I can put it in the issue tracker too :)

Edit: I made a report in the issue tracker now too
