I just reached my 750 merits today and I was checking to see how much longer I have to wait until I can unlock those Prismatic Shields. I was hoping I could time it before heading out on an 18-week exploration expedition, and I noticed that I have been pledged to Duval for 280 some-odd days. I just started playing again after a hiatus about a month ago, and it looks like I pledged back in January before ing off for a while.

Soooooo, did I just waste my time getting those 750 merits because I've been pledged for so long, or does the clock start as soon as you start gathering merits? I'm showing Rating 2 and have no idea if it'll eventually move up to 3. I'm hoping I don't have to unpledge and do all that crap again. Does anyone know if I'm good or have to start over?

The requirements for getting the modules are being pledged for at least four weeks and having at least rank 3.
You can get rank 3 at any time by holding at least 750 merits when the weekly tick happens (ranks are only adjusted at the tick).
If you drop below rank 3 (due to merit decay) you lose access to buying the modules, but you can just rank up again the next week - 750 merits is literally only one load of hauling.

The clock starts ticking when you pledge to the power regardless the day of week. And you can add merits any time. You get promotions only on the Thursday tick.

So just make sure you have enough credits for the Thursday tick. If you pledged on the weekend you will gain access on the 4th weekend.... if you are rank 3.

You can pledge months in advance and not rank up at all until you finally decide to. If you decide to rank up months later that's fine. Just get the merits and on the next Thursday tick you will get your rank and you can get the modules.

Edit: If you pledged on a Wednesday and you want the modules ASAP it is wise to ensure you are rank 3 for the corresponding Wednesday... and just in case you can't log onto the game and miss your 1-day opportunity make sure you will be rank 3 the following week too.

Sweet, this is what I was hoping for. I've been pledged for 8 months but only started gathering merits about 3 weeks ago. Had 750 yesterday!
