Newcomer / Intro Missiles? Are they any good?

Generlly Ilike to use 4 AC or 2 AC/2BL on my ship. I have been wondering about using Dumb fires on anacondas. Is that a viable choice or does the point defense just take them out?
 
I prefer my plasma accelerator, hits for around the same as missiles and has a lot more ammo. 3 direct hits on an anaconda's power plant and its toast.

I was using missiles but they are expensive. Not recomended if you hunt small ships and bounties, it will get you even on credits or minus. Assassination missions usually give you conda for 150.000 bounty. Check how much missiles costs you after you kill conda.
 
They will be nerfed in 1.1.
I think they should be personally - they're great fun against NPCs, but the way they work right now does too much damage per shot. I nearly killed a shielded NPC Anaconda in my T6 last night, and I would have had I not missed with about 6 of them. This is with no other weapons, from about 2.5KM out, and me backing up like crazy in FA-off to escape an interdiction.

Yeah I like the Plasma Accelerator's too, they can be devastating when ships shields are down and by targeting sub-systems.
At 100 to be precise, the ammo count is high enough to stay out there long enough. Especially since this is more of a surgical strike weapon, trigger finger discipline required.

If your shields are already good A3/A4 which gives you some closer time to the target, the fastest and most cost effective way I found is a cannon, shoot the shields down with Energy (Laser) weapons and then use cannons....of couse this is only true for bigger targets....if you own a Viper the Multicannon with 2100 shoots is the right choice in terms of invest compared to result.
 
With a Cobra, I've always liked using 4 ACs. They seem to just pound targets into submission. At the moment, i have a BL/Ac combo working. I almost blew myself up because of the BLs heat build up. I had an outstanding shot on my target and was so engaged at watching their FSD melt, I almost melted me. I didn't know that could happen.

The only thing about cannons is their limited ammo. I guess if I can hit the target, I won't need to worry about it, With autocannons you can spray and pray. :)

I pretty much have my ship maxed out. Everything is an A or B except the cargo racks.

Soon, I'm going to have to get the plasma launcher and see what happens if I can get a double shot off with out killing my ship due to the heat build up. They are expensive and I want 2 of them.

My new curse seems to be flimsy canopies. I keep breaking them. I had 75% hull and no canopy. I had 30 min of air but I didn't stick around. Finding a dock and landing is hard for me when I can't see them.:)
