Missiles

After struggling to eat away at the bigger ships hulls with my 4 beam lasers, I decided to fit a missile rack (dumbfire). What can I say, I am glad I did, took down a type 7 in 2 bursts and a missile hit. I just wish the ammo pool was a bit bigger. Yes I know the better class missile racks do, but 16 and 24 missiles isn't enough for some serious nav beacon bounty hunting.

On a sidenote, where can I find a C2 beam laser? I am in the fed core systems at the moment.

Check high population Industrial and High-tech systems for upgrades of any kind, including your sought-after C2 Beam Lasers.

I wouldn't mind if missile ammo was just a tad higher and damage reduced. Torpedoes are amazing but having to restock pretty much after every slightly big fight kinda blows.

Also I think beam lasers are the hardest to find but try high tech systems.

I found my C2 Beams at a high-tech system. Using two fixed ones now on my Cobra, and I love them. They're more of a sidegrade compared to the other cheaper lasers, though.

Could really do with being able to carry extra ammo as cargo, with a long reload time of say 5-6 minutes, would avoid having to jump to a friendly system to restock especially if you are unable to dock in system.

1. would extend the range of hunting
2. would give more loadout options and give a choice of sticking a cargo rack in place of another combat module (shield cells, interdictor etc...)

I'm reasonably happy with current ammo levels - if I'm hunting smaller ships like eagles or sidewinders a single volley of 2 is normally enough anyway, and for larger ships like Anacondas I want to restock on shield cells afterwards anyway...

I do have a question though, if you target a subsystem does the missile go after that subsystem (ofc there would be a degree of luck involved with regards to actually hitting it) or does it still go for straight hull? My normal tactic for taking out larger bounties is to hit the powerplant or FSD... which can take some work with a pair of pulses.
