Missing and Odd Animal Behaviors

I put this thread together to highlight some animal behaviors that are still missing for certain animals. Hopefully Frontier can get around to implementing/fixing them some time in the future. Also you guys do outstanding work regardless.
  • Nile Monitor: still can't deep dive, can't climb (not sure if the asian water monitor can climb either, haven't tried the DLC yet)
  • Tortoises: Can't wallow in the mud bath enrichment, can't swim
  • Pangolin: Can't Climb
  • Great Ape Species: Can't Brachiate
  • Clouded Leopard: Has a zero gravity jump.
Is there also anyway the orangutan could share the gibbon rig instead of the gorilla? It's very inaccurate at this point and would benefit from a rework.

Apparently the AWM can't climb either so there is that as well.

We are also missing nursing behaviours for all animals. I wish for more cub to cub interactions and parent-cub interactions.

Also the anteater, pangolin and bear don't carry their babies on their backs and the aardvark doesn't use the termite mound.

I'm jealous that you have a RETF. I've been searching for them since forever and no stores have them; even the reptile expo I went to didn't have them
I've had him for about 10 years now, I got him at the first reptile expo I went to. They're very common at the expos I go to. I'm in the northeastern US though.

Oof, southeast may not have them then.
The one I went to had poison frogs, pacman frogs, and axolotls. No fire-bellied toads, and only one guy had some tree frogs but they were dumpy tree frogs

Red eyeds are really uncommon to see here too. Ive never seen them at expos. Pacmans and poisons are very common though. And axolotls are basically everywhere in petstores. Im in North Europe.

I don't really see why they wouldn't. You could always check morph market for captive bred ones, they're pretty reliable. I never see dumpy treefrogs up here.

I thought you were from India for some reason.

Last I heard, the toads weren't being imported anymore, so I'm not entirely sure.
I'm fairly new in the herps world, and this frog is the very first amphibian I've had

I'd like to revive this thread. There are some introduced behaviors in-game that have NOT been added to other species, as far as I know:

Animals that should be updated
  • Deep diving - Update 1.4
    • Nile monitor
    • Baird's tapir
    • Malayan tapir
  • Underwater herbivore feeder - Update 1.7
    • Baird's tapir
    • Malayan tapir
  • Animal burrows - Update 1.8
    • Arctic fox
    • Fennec fox
  • Expanded colormorph system - Update 1.8
    • Multiple species
  • Bathing behavior - Update 1.9
    • Any water-loving species
  • Animal sniffing behavior - Update 1.10
    • Anything to add?
  • Animal chorus behavior - Update 1.10
    • Dingo
    • Ring tailed lemurs
  • Brachiation - Update 1.10, expanded 1.13
    • Bornean orangutan

Does the lar gibbon have chorus? Also i think chimps, bonobos and xapuchins should get it too.

The fact that pangolins can’t climb BUGS ME SO MUCH. Like, the Chinese Pangolin is an ARBOREAL SPECIES with a prehensile tail. The fact that it can’t climb at all really gets on my nerves. I’d use them a hell of a lot more if they could - I’d actually be able to build them realistic habitats.

- Hippos iconically poking their heads up from underwater.

- Equines having access to the mud wallow, or at least the wild horse. Horses love dust/mud baths (I haven't played in a while so please do let me know if they already can and I've just forgotten).

- All applicable species having acces to the feeder log wall. Only the sunbear has access to what could arguably suit a third of all the animals in the game that forage.

- Same with the hammock.

- Denning behavior for wolves, AWD, and bears that hibernate. Not exactly the burrow because it's so deep underground, but maybe a new enrichment that's closer to the surface?

- Herding/pack behaviors could still be tweaked a bit more imo, as the last time I played I was still seeing mixed species herd animals scattered around at random even with the new sociality behavior.

Nile Monitor not being able to swim is a sin. We need this to be added.

Tortoises do have animation files inside of their code that allows for them to swim. Unfortunately, the prefabs for the animal don't have any swimming information in there for them. Would love to see this get implemented.

Pangolin not being able to climb is a sin.

Great Apes not brachiating I'm fine with for Bonobo, Chimpanzee, and Gorilla, but the Orangutan not being able to brachiate is sadly understandable but still disappointing.

Still don't know how that Clouded Leopard issue has been here for 8+ updates lol

Joshs Frogs. They ship all over the country and are the most reputable amphibian breeder in the country. Go to their updated website new.joshsfrogs.co m
Also if you can afford to I recommend going bioactive. Frogs do much better in natural environments. Well actually all herps do lol but frogs especially.
