Newcomer / Intro Missing cargo?

Sometimes, rarely, I take off with a full hold, I fly to my destination, I don't see anyone or crash, and I land with no cargo.

What's going on?

Sounds like the transaction server drops the transaction. Does your balance increase to back where it started too?

How's your internet connection? Do you give a long way from the exchange on an ADSL connection or play in a country in Asia, for example? It could, I guess, be a result of packet loss or more likely a server-side glitch. I'm guessing though.

No, the money is gone. I'm not sure what's up.

I have a cable connection, 60mbps down 5 up. However, my ISP appears to be doing work lately as I've had some storms of bad route loops or packet loss.

Maybe you are taking heat damage at a star. The cargo hatch is very prone to spewing your cargo if nudged

So are you looking at your cargo screen, and it says your holds are empty? Or are you at the commodities market and you don't have anything to sell? If you are carrying cargo that is illegal in the current station, it won't show up at the commodity market. You have to go to Contacts, and Black Market to sell it. Or there could not be a commodity market at the station (usually only outposts).

Or have you accidentally jettisoned all your cargo? Default bound to "end" rebind it somewhere else is a good idea.

Both! My holds were definitely clear.

I don't think that was the case but I'll keep this in mind for next time. It's been too long since it happened and now I can't be 100% sure.

bind the "jettison all" command to something you don't accidentally hit. I set it to a combination of two buttons on my HOTAS. I sometimes need it when i try to smuggle but get scanned before i set up my silent run docking. It's less deficit to lose the stuff than to get fined.

About the topic: it wasn't toxic waste you lost, was it? Because that stuff eats your hull and eventually your cargo bay. But you should get a audio notifiation anytime you take such damage.
