Missing Commanders?

Just hit Elite status in trading this week, decided to head out to Founder's to see what it's all about.

I'm gonna be honest, I expected to see a ton of commander's here outfitting or buying something, in open, but there's nothing here but NPC's at Jameson.

Is that normal? Do people still choose Li Yong Rui systems over Jameson?

I buy stuff at Jameson all the time but until a option exists for a PVE only open play I will remain in solo or private group. Game has too many time sinks to risk being "its emergent game play to curb stomp non-pvp players" grief killed.

Usually it's full there, could be instancing shenanigans, sometimes when I watch Netflix on second monitor I encounter no one even at CGs...

LYR systems are just better overall in the end if you dont mind a couple mins of travel to find stuff... I mean an extra 5% discount especially on big ships goes a LONG way, especially since the cost of ship and modules from discounts is factored into rebuys as well.

....and that's the real attraction for me. Over the life of that ship your re-buy is always lower, maybe it's not enough to get rich on but enough to keep your riches when you do find yourself blown up outside Jameson, again:)

Even on PS4 I see at least one or two commanders docked at Jameson's at most times. Like Bigmaec said, it could be due to instancing. Sometimes after I go to the main menu and back at a busy station suddenly there's only NPCs too.

Op - remember you are supposed to also complain that there is nothing unique about the station. That's the law, you need to add that to your post.

It also depends of the instances, but it is true that most CMDRs use solo around Jameson because of traditional ganking. It's not like in "the old days" when you had like 50/50 chances to get killed when exiting the station, even with a full combat build, but nobody wants to risk their ship for nothing, unless they actually want a fight.

In beta though, it was crawling with people... :)

Hell. Jumping into SD is normally like jumping into a pool of Piranhas, you see the same CMDR's there floating about all trying to get a lock on you. Sad really.

O.S.O... etc.

Im in PG. Jamesons is my home, Its normally full off hollows in PG. I dont play 'open'. Ive BFV for that kind of game. When docked I may visit open, but the comms has been, shall we say a little less than gracious. I much prefer PG. I can relax, which is why I play ED. To relax and wally around.

I'm not one to complain unless I can also propose a solution. As far as how pretty it is or isn't: Looks like a station, functions like a station, that's enough for me.

Since the upgrade, Open is nearly unplayable, I'm getting so many connection errors.

I haven't had any issues, did you try to switch to the IPV6 protocol? From the Main Menu, go to options, network settings, and enable the IPV6 option. Dunno which region you play in, apparently parts of Europe don't have this option, but most people I've played with in the US and Canada do. This will allow you to connect to IPV6 and IPV4 users, and on IPV6, there's greater network flow. Worked for me.
