Missing dinosaur alternative models

Hello, I just purchased yesterday both Malta and Biosyn DLC for the Ps4, and I noticed that some dinosaurs (AkA: Giganotosaurus, Dreadnoughtus and Iguanodon) have the alternative body model option with the new cosmetics, and I asked myself, why the feathered rex doesn't have an alternative cosmetic type? I mean, yeah, some people already know about that feathered rex skin that wasn't released, but now, what about having your own custom feathered rex? I mean, we already have the skins for the 2022 Giga and 2022 Dread, why don't we have the skins for the 65 m.y.a T-Rex? Thanks

Because it's not considered a variant.

Summarizing Jens Erik's statements elsewhere and my observations in the Species Viewer: A "Variant" is a complete rework of a dinosaur, not by just having a new model design, but by having a new rig to pilot those models. Often times, not all the time, they have new sounds, size changes, and new exclusive animations for them the default variants won't have.

the 65 MYA T.Rex skin has a new model design by having a filament covered body, but it's not a variant because it's not a radicalized remake beyond having a new model.

The dinosaur Variants in the game that don't have any skin and pattern customizing from the latest big update are the 2022 Allosaurus and Dimorphodon. And while it's said they have no plans to do the same for Skins as early as December, I'm not sure if the 2001 Pteranodon might end up being a variant because it currently has a new rig with exclusive animation and size differences.

I didn't actually think about that, thanks for sharing that information with me and thank you for helping me see my mistake
