Missing Variants for already-existing species

The newly added Variants in Update 8 are seriously awesome. The team introduced really beautiful and much needed variants to already existing species.
So I would like to list a few distinct species skins that would be great to have as new Variants in a future update.

The ones deserving this treatment are the following:
  • Feathered Rex (65 mya)
  • 2022 Parasaurolophus
  • 2001 (JP3) Velociraptor
  • 1993 Triceratops
I would also like to have the 2022 Carnotaurus as a Variant, since its quality is so much better than the default one. But maybe that one is not distinct enough from the default version? Still would like it though.

The JP1 raptors and JP3 Ankylosaurus could also become variants, though their differences from the base models are slight but definitely noticeable.

The 65 MYA T-Rex, Carno 2022, and Parasaurolophus 2022 skins are marketed as “Skins” in marketing material for the old Dominion Biosyn and Malta packs, so I don’t know if they can or will change them into “Variants” in one way or another.

Until Update 8, Frontier confirmed numerous times on the forums and subreddit that “Variants” aren’t just only remodels of anything, no matter how different their meshes are, but are also reworks in a more “technical” perspective like animation rigs, new sounds, and/or resizes. The 2022 Paras maybe to an exceptional degree.

That, of course, changed with Update 8 for the base game’s Jurassic Park trilogy skins only, so maybe they will do the rest instead like the 2001 Anky, the 1993 Brach (there are model differences as shown in BestInSlot’s deep dive video I shared in the announcement thread for the latest pack and update), and the 1993 Trike. The Raptors I don’t know, because both the 1993 and two 1997 models are the exact same, and both 2001 raptors are a different mesh each.

Doesn't really matter. There is no real reason for Frontier to not make them actual Variants. The dedicated JP skins became Variants after all, and they were also just skins.

Another thing I forgot to add is the fact the Brachiosaurus 2001 variant retains the skin wrinkle textures on the Frontier skin colors for it, so that’s one more reason as to why I think they will eventually do the same treatment for the Brachiosaurus 1993 skin.

I think the 1993 Triceratops and JWD Parasaurolophus probably most deserve to get the variant treatment. Both of them have clear model differences that make them stand out. So I think these would make the most sense to have as variants.

I would also really love to see a variant of the feathered T. rex. Although I'm not sure how likely that is due to it basically being the same standard model, but with feathers.
The JP raptors would also be nice. Although those model changes are also fairly subtle.

Personally I'm not very interested in a JP3 Ankylosaurus variant. It's still very similar. The same goes for Carnotaurus. I think resources are better spent elsewhere.

If the Para, Trike and feathered T. rex are added, at that point I think I'd rather see new animals and variants. Like the TLW Pteranodon as a skin or variant or the website Baryonyx

I would love to see what the 1993 Triceratops could look like with the latest skin designs. I always imagined Triceratops with rich colors for display.
