Missing visited stars on the Gal map

o7 my fellow CMDRs,

I recently upgraded from a One S to a Series X. I've noticed that when using the galaxy map filter 'visited stars' none of them show up (been playing since 2017), frustrating.

I did some google detective work and found that this information could be saved in a local file on my old xbox, can anyone tell me if this is the case and is it possible to transfer said data over to the new 'box?

Any advice gratefully received,

CMDR Jibberd

No it's not part of your saved game data (or it would transfer to other machines), it's part of the game's configuration files. I don't think there's a way to access/transfer those

That's nasty if true (and normal behavior). On PC the visited star cache is indeed a local file.
On XB i always assumed there are no local files and everything related to player profile is mirrored in the cloud so it would be transferred on a new XBox
Did you set your new Series X as your "home" console (aka the main console)?

I intend to eventually make the same upgrade (One S to Series X)

Ah that's a shame if I can't transfer, not the end of the world but still a shame.

I just downloaded the game onto the new 'box and thought everything would transfer over. I wasn't aware I would have to make it the "home" console, just turned the old one off and started using the new...

It does only affect the stars in the galaxy map filter though. As far as the game is concerned, you've visited these systems and your first discoveries are still there

Yeah I've noticed everything else is still there including the lore entries from those systems (if they worked in the codex, that has been annoying me for the months it hasn't been working despite numerous ignored issue tracker entries, but that's another story).

Thanks for the replies

Yeah there are files in your profile which contain visited systems
I know because for a while I played on two computers

Before starting swapping I would copy these files to computer to computer to keep them updated before playing further.

Technically you can created an imoirt version of the file and add more system to the main file as well

If your Custom button mapping, sound settings, and more moved over with you doing nothing but loggin in to the live account then it imported the saves correctly from the cloud....
If those did not transfer, the saves were incorrectly transfered from the Xbox live cloud... So local cache save files would not transfer... Its highly likely you will have uploaded "the newer save files to over write the old ones online" buy using the series X so old saves wont be on the cloud now...

It, moving the files, can probably be done, I assume it just requires some lite hacking to get them...
