Mission confusion - am I doing something wrong?

I've been getting a lot of missions to go to another system and kill military ships in supposed combat zones in those systems. None of the systems have combat zones. I've flown around, scanning all the ships in SC, nothing. I've gone to Nav points, spent ages there looking at system authority ships, nothing.

The missions are all good payers, but don't seem to work. Am I missing something?

We have a mercenary contract for the destruction of Military combat ships. You are to seek out such vessels in conflict zones and eliminate them. Once the requisite number has been destroyed, return for your payment.

There are no conflict zone sin LHS2477, I've flown to every planet in there. Can't find any Military ships at all. This is the third such mission I've been offered in Solati over the last few days. None have been completable (I'm only taking them to see if any are working, I'm not a sucker for punishment, don't care about my rep ).

Not saying this is the case but in order to see a conflict zone in a system you have to be within 1000 ls of it. So you might try going to near each planet and seeing if one pops up. If that doesn't work the mission is likely bugged

I've noticed a few CZ missions for places with no conflict zones. I'd log a bug.

Yup i reported this bug earlier in a mission taken from Harma to kill in a CZ in Biko.
No War going on, therefore no CZs. (and lost rep now)

I also received this mission From Gandii to go to Tewi'xilak, no conflict zones. Also noted that non of the factions are at civil war. This is a known issue from ED wikia but is not noted on the "known issues" forum post here.

+1 from me - took a mission like that for a system without civil war.
The system I got the mission from had dozens of CZs though including the mentioned faction.
I'll log a bug as soon as I'm home from work.

Same thing just happened to me. Mission to kill military ships. Go to the CZ and pick a side. No credits for the kills. Leave and come back and pick the other side with no change.
