I miss the mission types that you could find in the previous Elite games.
Ones like "x trader is leaving x base at this time" - usually an assassination mission, but they could be varied quite a bit:
x person is leaving x place at this time, follow them to their desination and report back
.
I agree, and is something I have asked in the past. Michael B has responded and said the mission generator will be getting an overhaul but it is a lot of work and WONT be happening soon (ie not in 1.2!)
also, the "exact time" missions are hard in Elite D. any number of things can alter your time of arrival in a system. This was not a problem in past elite games as you could just stick on accelerated time, however in elite D it would mean potentially a lot of hanging around waiting, which may be dull.
1 way around could be you take on a mission to wait for someone and it give a very broad time scale and the mission auto triggers for you a set amount of time after you arrive. Yes this would be a bit cheap, and may ruin immersion for some, but, you you really want to get into place for your mission, only to have to wait 10 mins for the guy to turn up? if not you risk cutting it too fine and failing. Another downside is there could be no multiplayer counter to this mission if it fake-triggered on your arrival rather than a set in stone start time.
