Horizons Mission Failure then a fine.

This has probably happened to other commanders, but this is what happened. I accepted a mission to fly some stuff to Frigaha, some jumps from where I started. While en route I was told that the destination had changed to Herbert Dock in Wolf 906. I went there but when I docked the mission did not show up on the mission board. I even launched again and re-docked. The only thing I could do was to abandon the mission, whereupon I was hit with an 87k+ fine.

Is this a bug???

A bunch of missions have a fine on failure – always had. It's stated in the mission description.

Could be that the mission bugged out on you, but it's also possible you couldn't turn it in because of the rewards. Missions can hand out 4t of commodities as rewards, which means if you don't have free cargo space when you try to turn it in, you can't.

Last 4 missions have failed because of nowhere to hand them in...now have 42k left and done with pointless missions that are all work no pay. Relogging didn't work and the best advice I've been given so far is...do missions to make money...

My cargo hold was empty when I took the mission, I have a Hauler with 16t of cargo space.

Yes, but I completed the mission as requested, arrived at destination Wolf 906 as instructed. It has happened a couple of times before.
