When I go to my Galaxy map view there's a mission icon over a system for a mission that I abandoned a few days ago. Anyone know how to get rid of it? Maybe it's a bug. The mission that it was for is no longer in my mission list and when I hover over the system in the galaxy map, the Info view doesn't say there's an active mission for it. It's just that the orange mission marker is still there. Any ideas? Cheers!

Did you just abandon by choice or was it prompted by a USS encounter. I.e. "You don't need to take out us pirates! Abandon your mission and we'll take care of you!", etc, etc, etc?
If you were asked to abandon by another ship encountered at USS then there may be some credits waiting for you there? Or alternative mission?

Hmmm not sure. I think I abandoned it by choice. I think it might of been a mission to find some cargo floating around in space but I couldn't find it so I gave up.. Not 100% sure though. Maybe I should fly back to the system then and see if I can find any USS's?
Just fly back to the station and check the bulletin board to see if there is a complete mission option. You may need to check several stations if you're not sure which one you need to go to in that system?
TBH, I think this is more likely to be a bug and you should raise a ticket if going there doesn't clear the Galmap symbol.
Yes, you can delete or archive them in certain circumstances but OP said he doesn't have anything in his contacts/transactions tab.
Are they definitely mission markers?
Those markers could have been the systems where your active combat zones were then?
No, they are hundreds of ly away. Some of them could well have been previously failed missions, others, I am fairly sure I have never been anywhere near.
One appeared again, then vanished. I have a feeling I may get 1 per open mission. Currently have none (Those damned Van Maannen lunatics are so fickle)

) as I spotted that bug with a mission I had abandoned on request but couldn't be bothered to go get the reward (i realised after it would give me negative rep with a friendly faction).
