Mission Locations? Where to go for which Mission type?...

I'd love to have enough game time (and more than a piece of A4 tucked under a mouse mat), to do a proper study of what sort of mission spawns from which economy/population etc system (if there's any difference at all).
I know of (and have, obviously used) the smuggling hubs, and the different types of offerings from the planet bases, but what of others?

Although it might not be that sophisticated, has anyone noticed any Bulletin Board trends?

This is a very good question. I also would like to know the answer.
Sadly, mission spawning is always changing with patches, and good places suddenly become well... not so good places regarding missions. It took a lot of time to find a good place for combat missions, but with the recent patches I can barely find combat missions there anymore.

Hello Speedy O,

I do not think government type or economic type changes missions as such. A Fed Democracy is just as likely to order an assassination of a clean target as an independent dictatorship (hmm, showing my colours there!).

Relative influence affects who's missions appear, and state affects what.

Certainly prior to 1.4 there was a trend in mission types based on influence percentage of faction and their state, or it at least seemed so to me, some of these also occur with pending states:

1) Boom : more trade missions and take documents for signing. (to increase boom or produce bust)for some reason from the system in question.
2) Bust: More charity missions.
3) Lockdown: Kill x piarates (tends to be from other systems into the system, rarer apparently in 1.5).
4) Civil Disorder: Assassination missions (there is a kill the leaders of the rebellion titles one) which reduces civil disorder as well as upping influence.
5) non station controlling factions will tend to give smuggling missions (take X illegal ), and try to compete on the trade routes (take X legal) with the controller.

This is about all I spotted, and very much prior to 1.5 - so many not work the same way in 1.5. But I guess the gut of my post would be relative influence/control of station/state give a good indicator of hoe shady and sort of missions. I do not think anyone has tracked mission and outcomes, let alone state and mission occurrence.

Hope this helps (a bit).

Simon

Thanks both.... I'll continue checking to see if there's a difference.... I'm moving home system to a higher population one so hopefully I'll get a clue as to whether it's influenced or not....

Wow, great info!
I know of some systems at the edge of the bubble where one systems "kill" missions point to only one other system, I will try to cause lockdown in said system and see if there is an increase in "kill x pirates" missions available....
btw, can you tell me which missions are good in increasing "lockdown"?

If you missed it, one of the FD bosses (Michael Brookes) posted that the BGS "feeds into what traffic is generated in a system, what missions are available and the markets. It also effects the laws applied in a system. I agree we need to do more with it, but it already affects all areas of the game, although maybe too subtly in places".... Confirming Simons (smiths121) post....
