Mission not disappearing on left UI, annoying !!!!!!

Ok, I got OCD.

What really annoys me is that after having abandoned a current mission (one of those where you go to a USS and then a NPC tells you to do his mission rather for the same crap reward), anyway, I abandoned the original mission as it was bugged, but now, the alternate mission from that USS NPC is on the left side without a timer, the mission keeps staying there. How can I get rid of it? I do not want to hand it in as I would be loosing standings. Please tell me this disappears, there is no timer on it as to when it expires...

If it's red, select it again, you'll get a popup with a "discard" option. For some reason, you have to acknowledge that you've abandoned a mission.

Sidenote: if the mission was a "kill x (pirates|traders|etc)", you have to kill them in certain places - nav beacons worked for me.

I have the same thing. The mission can't be abandonned because you actually completed the alternate way by abandonning/failing the main way. Once the mission is complete, the timer stops.

So, all you have to do to complete it is to find the proper station, and get your reward.

Quite annoying in fact, because the alternate mission was given to me by an ennemy; and I don't want their reward/rep. So, I'll just keep the complete mission in my missions list until there is a way to abandon a successful mission :p

(Note: this also means I've never tried what I just suggested, but I think it should work)
