Engineers Mission reward materials. How to get them.

You know how it is. When you are prospecting every mission you see has SLF's and CIF's but when you have a full load of rocks and need the mission rewards to complete your engineer potions they're all cash only or offering junk you don't need..

Without advising me to "just play...":D

  • Do you flip open/solo/group like Sothis, etc to get these missions to spawn?
  • Should i head back to where i've loads of allied stations to increase these types of missions or is it pure RNG?

i think those hard to get ones tend to spawn wherever you are and whatever your status. Ive not seen a pattern but there probably is one

Boom system state helps, but some are bugged at the moment such as exquisite focus crystals, which are broken since the last update (2.2).

All i need before i finish with Felicity are Specialised Legacy Firmware and Micro-weave Cooling hoses. Sods law they'll take forever!

SLF is easy to get by scanning satellites, crashed and not and in encoded USS scanning private beacons. Also scanning small bases. For MCH look at passenger rewards, see them loads for them, but being allied with the factions increase the amount of missions you can take.

Quick question re: missions.

I know i cant take some missions if i'm not allied, (lock symbol), but they are still displayed, just not selectable.

Do more missions show when i'm allied or do the locked ones just unlock.
