It's probably been asked before, but what is the point of spending a while doing a mission that pays 10-30kcr, when you can make 200k mining or BHing in the same time?

Do mission values go up if you get friendly? Does it make sense then to concentrate on one local faction?.

Yes, mission values do go up the more you do them.
You may get 2k for a simple delivery mission now, but once you are friendly, and have done a lot of missions, they will offer up to 20k for a similar mission.
