Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago I got 'friendly' with the Empire and got to Lord rank, but then an exploration CG diverted my attention from progressing further. Recently I decided to go for Allied status and progress my rank further but, the previous abundance of Empire missions has dried up with, more often than not, none to choose from at all. As I was wanting to buy and try out the clipper this is most frustrating.
The only thing I can think of is that during the exploration CG I popped from neutral to friendly with the Alliance and from unfriendly to neutral with the Feds. Anybody know if your rep with one affects your ability to progress with another?

Try to go to another system with different empire-factions, maybe you have reached your reputation maximum with the factions in your current system...

Reps are independent, you won't have damaged anything by handing in your cg data. Nor does rep decay with inactivity

There's a random factor involved. Promotions are like buses; you won't see one for ages but keep slogging away at the rep and its likely that two will turn up one after the other.

I'd love to Steve but when I say there is no missions I don't mean the promotion ones, I mean missions in general. Until recently I would quite often get more than a page of acceptable missions and a few un-acceptable, but now I'm seeing maybe up to 5 unacceptable with, on rare occasions, 1 or 2 acceptable ones. By un/acceptable I mean due to faction restrictions not my personal taste :)

I'm wondering if it is due to my Vulture only having 2t cargo space, that could explain the lack of hauler missions at least. I'll look into that.

I had a bulletin board with zero missions of any kind from any faction last night.

First time I've seen that happen.

I wonder if things are being wound down in anticipation of Power Play, but I don't see why that would be necessary, since it's all basically RNG.

Try some normal trade (just buy 2T of whatever) that can get you some rep and often kicks off the mission offers.

You don't need missions for rep, can get rep from trading (selling rares to a station is particularly good) or selling cartographic data. I think cashing in bounties works too, but not certain.

All activity affects reputation one way or another.

I thought you did slowly lose rep (but not ranks) due to a lack of activity though.
