Lately I have run into difficulty with some missions where I cannot find the site. Generally this has happened with diplomatic bag missions or prisoner liberation missions. I'm not sure if I have seen this with salvage operations. This happens frequently enough that I mention it, but certainly not every time.
Process:
When going after the mission target, I enter the system and usually find the site using the FSS. The majority of the time this is far quicker than visiting the nav beacon. At times, I do stop at the nav beacon and scan it to find the mission location in the system, and I'm on my way.
When I have this problem, neither of those methods reveal the mission location. With the FSS, I'll scan all of the signals "down low" on the spectrum until I have scanned them all. Sometimes, when I scan the nav beacon, I'll get some nonsensical message that it's 'not found, scan required.'
...but I have already done any scan that I am capable of doing.
This persists thru leaving and returning to the system, logging out, etc. Usually I end up dropping the mission.
Any tips?
