Engineers Mission Specific Material Reward : design fail ?

So, there are new materials that you can only get from mission rewards.

I am missing something, or this means I have to play "refresh the board" minigame for hours to get the materials I need ?

Are you sure you're talking about materials, not the cargo they also give you as rewards (which you can just sell)? I've yet to see anything mission-reward specific that's used in crafting.

Edit: if it is a material, perhaps it would help if you gave an example

To be more specific, it's Articulation Motor, for Grade 3 Overcharged Multi cannon.

Are these definitely mission-only?

I've yet to see a mission-only material, although many missions do give some material as reward. But I have really not been paying much if any attention to missions at all.

Completely offtopic, but I really love your signature Mephane :)

Aha, so it is a commodity (cargo) and it's used in a recipe and no...I can't see any other way to get it. Will have to see how big a deal it is when I get to the lofty heights of Grade 3 anything :)

Pretty sure it is a commodity that can be dropped. You could think outside the box and try asking. Am sure there are plenty of truckers out there with stuff they don't need. I have bunch of mission reward components that I'm selling off.

This guy has the motors you need, send him a PM and maybe trade for something - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=255575

What if it's a bug? Some of commodities required by engineers are manufactured in certain systems, which should be mentioned in their description. I can't find articulation motors to check that, though.

Ok after 2 hours, finally got a mission...
For what it worths, I got it on a surface base, it's a pirate killing mission.
