Mission specific?

Are all "mission specific" item quests broken at the moment? Why on earth did they even introduce these missions if they aren't working? Just roll them back until you get them to work! I am really questioning FD's competence (again).

I've seen these what are they? For example a mission asking for "Ancient Artefacts [mission specific]". Like the same missions that's always been there but with [mission specific] added to it.

Maybe it means you have to find them after you have the mission or something? Like you can no longer grab the items when you see them, keep hold of them and hand them in immediately when a suitable mission pops up?

That is exactly what it means, but apparently they didn't add "mission specific" to any cargo, so it never fulfills the requirements. I hope they do fix them soon, those kidnapping missions are lucrative and fun, 500k for 2 hostages and I get to be a good guy pirate? Yes, please!

The cargo Specific mission works and it means that the cargo you get for the mission is the same you need to deliver so if you lose it the mission is a bust and you can't just buy more of the same. The other specific missions look to be broken or maybe you must actually steal the stuff from ships.

On the plus side: I took a job to recover "Military Plans [mission specific]" floating in space in a system. Result was *lots* of "Military Plans" spawning in WSSs for two days - none "[mission specific]" so could not complete the job - but worth Cr5k each on the black market. Pure mercantile profit :)

The only two hostage missions (one after the other (+ specific) I tried were tonight. I've been actively trying to avoid any new mission types as I wasted hours on a cut the power mission where I couldn't find the surface base. (It wasn't there, confirmed bug)

I have the specific hostages but both missions didn't update to completed, so I had 2 escape pods/crates? of hostages linked to nothing.

Apart from loosing out on about 800k of payout and pretty much a ban in two systems as I got a 4 day wanted status for shooting at the dudes who had the hostages (?) , it was fun poo-ing them out the back of my ship and watching them float around the station. Made me feel better anyway :p

Still love ED, as long as I don't touch any of the new missions and they put the bounty/mining missions back as they were 2 weeks ago!

Just letting you know, that you can usually sell them although they're not worth much. Life really is cheap in this game :).
.
From what I can see the bring/steal/liberate 'mission specific' cargo/data/hostages don't work at the moment, as the game doesn't seem to ever spawn the mission specific cargo. It spawns the ship with the right name and cargo type but never flags them as mission target or cargo.

missions that mean you have to transport a cargo of "mission specific" items, seems to work OK.

E.g. "take this 16t of fruit to destination", will work fine.

The intention of those missions, is that people can't just accept a mission, dump cargo, accept another mission, dump cargo, and so on, stacking lots of missions to the same locations, then go to the destination and re-buy the cargo to hand in the mission.

Missions where you have to retrieve some "mission specific" items, all seem to be broken.

If it's to take something from an npc ship, then the npc holding the cargo will spawn, and you can get the items, but they don't count to hand in the mission.

There's at least one of those missions which I've reported as an exploit, as the items are worth 100k each, are legal to retrieve, the npc will drop a dozen of them or more, and the npc will keep respawning because the mission doesn't complete, so a player could farm millions of credits, from a broken mission.

hopefully, the missions will be patched soon.

Yes, so far everything where you have to obtain something "mission specific" is broken.
