Fly at an altitude of 2 km over the surface of the planet => you'll see blue circles. These are POI (Points of interest). The first or second you land in will contain the salvage you're looking for. Don't land in the middle of the blue circle, but in front of it and drive into it with your SRV. Look at the scanners for signals whose bars are not at the bottom of the scanner, but in the upper third.
