I know this is probably been done to death but, i couldn't find a link in my quick search so here we are.
Will we ever have the mission timer stop when you are actually offline? I am wracking my head as to why the mission timer is global not based on your in game but have yet to come up with a reasonable explanation? Just frustrating, for example you spend 40mins collecting missions that give a nice reward, you start on them but then BANG, life gets in the way and you have to pop out or entertain or whatever the case... you come back and all your nice missions are expired, you lose your influence and it feels so deflating.. nothing leaves a worse taste in your mouth than your form of entertainment actually slapping you in the face.
I know I know, if you can't finish a mission don't start it but this is meant to be a game not a real life clock simulator. Fair go? Some missions really end up taking a few hrs and thats a lot of time especially when you have a young family.
