Missions about "stealing" cargos/ Realistic vs Conscience

I am into the game about 3-4 hours, most missions that I accepted is about taking cargos that does not belong to me. and every time after I finish the mission, it showed me the page of faction influence and all sort of status of the faction.
I wonder is it really good to take those "prototype tech" from those unknown signals? first it just shows that I am neutral to both factions (one is the current faction that I am at, the other is the faction that comes out of no where), but obviously my neutral influence on the other side is going down, and there's so many status under the influence line. I did about 2 or 3 missions like this, and it did gives me a lot of money, that's also why I took those cargos, but since I know I can take more than the mission required and sell it on black market, I always take extra cargos until my cargo is full. the mission is about 15000 reward, and from selling those extra cargos I can earn an extra 8000 to 12000.
but since I saw even it improved the system's economy that I am at, or improve other things, but it also caused famine in the system (I am at LHS 3447)

I don't know should I keep doing this or not, it gives me a lot reward which means I can buy more stuff and improve my own interest, but at the same time, I don't know if I keep doing these missions and steal those cargos, will it cause more troubles?

Any Mission, or action for that matter, you take in the game will/should have an impact on your Reputation between the myriad of factions. Pick missions from groups affiliated with the major faction you prefer (Alliance, Empire, or Federation. It would be near impossible to go along without causing some factions trouble. Pick your sides, and carry on.

With the gather items missions, you have to be wary that any material you pick up in space is considered "Stolen". You have to take steps not to be 'scanned' by any authority ship. If scanned you will be fined and take a serious hit to your Rep with that faction. I suggest not taking those missions from anywhere but an Outpost. Outposts don't have a cadre of Authority ships around to scan you. With these warnings, I think you should continue.

Thanks for your suggestions. man, you sounds so official. I have researched online before I taking this missions, and I do know a little about it. but I never really get scanned at any starort though...
