Missions not spawning at destination

I have a problem that is getting worse of missions that do not spawn or not correctly and would like to know if other people have the same issue. Also, how to fix it.

Salvage items are not there, I have to go to supercruise or relog if this did not work. I get a mission to kill the occupants of a settlement not and not all of them spawn. Then it fails, because going to supercruise and back to kill more does not fill it up, it messes up the count.

This is now almost all missions. Today it reached a peak and I am stuck without a ship.
The scavengers did not spawn. I raided tha abandoned settlement waiting for them. In the end I got back in my srv and relogged. My Gunship disappeared, the logon screen said I was flying a Vulture and I cannot recall the ship. The missions didn't spawn and everything is a mess. I got a taxi, but the Vulture is apparently on the carrier.

What is the root cause of my problem and how does one fix it? Inara says I am in my Gunship.

Both are long term issues that FDev claimed to have solved several times now. 🤷‍♂️
Yet they still appear.

I don't know what to tell you. I stopped doing massacre missions (because more often than not they spawned one less NPC to kill) and I've never attempted a fetch quest because of the known bug.

So my solution/bypass to this problem is to ignore these types of missions until they are definitely fixed.

It’s ja mission type which is nearly unplayable, myself and others had give this information to frontier via issue tracker and here on the forum, but no response, for me this missionstypes aren’t enjoyable at this moment, seems to be a long term issue but Fdev are so hard involved to clear up bugs following the events of update 14 that these bugs and others didn’t find a way on their prio list, which is a shame. Only hope is that they will fix this sort of missions in update 15 but I highly doubt this.

Ps: things like this are going under in the huge wave of new issue reports after every update.

It seems odd that you say they are hard at work and it takes so long. But the issue got worse and the game is now basically almost unplayable.
When I get home I have to wait for a friend to come online to take me to my carrier to get the Vulture. It just cannot be called over to a station.

I had some weirdness last year where I took a couple of regular "kill the ship at this location" type missions that I've done loads of times. However upon getting to the destination system, the mission changed to an entirely different type. Rather than, as the briefing initially said, I just had to go scan the nav beacon and find the target ship - assuming they don't find me first of course - it morphed into a "fly to the planet and do ILLEGAL on-foot stuff" NOT the mission I accepted. I've not taken any assassination missions since, in case it happens again. I've not tried since update 14 though, so perhaps it got stealth fixed.

Bugs like this often have the effect of putting me off the game for weeks, I just can't be dealing with such carp during a time-limited play session. So, I pick something else to play. Barely been in-game since last year.

A short while ago I completed an Odyssey settlement eliminate occupants mission, which I combined with a massacre personnel mission. Both worked.

If the mission objective item is missing, simply relog as many time as required. Goods and assets respawn every time at crash sites.

If an npc is missing, relog, but before the first time loot and take the power regulator. Repeat and take the PR each time.

Mate, they locks down a whole treat because someone post a complete list of forgotten (ignored) bugs. I’m not trying to be odd, believe me when I tell you, that I am not a friend of the way how they dealing with such annoying things. And I really hope they will start to sort things likes this messed up missions out and fix them. Not to mentioning other forgotten (ignored) things like performance issues on busy places and so on.

You need to get to a station/port with a large pad and the ship transfer service.

Yeah, but relog shouldn’t be the path as it was intended, in a game which lives from immersion, this is a breaking point. And a relog shouldn’t be in anyway be a solution for an total easy reproduced bug.

A relog should not be the solution I agree. But it IS a solution immediately available to a player who hits that particular issue at that time.

Shrug your shoulders, relog and move on playing the game. Adapt, improvise and overcome. If it breaks the game for you, you can play something else.

About every mission I get to salvage some I have to go back to supercruise and sometimes relog. This is unacceptable and Frontier is silent.

I’ve been so often shrug my shoulders to accept some inconsistent in their behavior about fixing long term bugs of elite but at some times it’s enough, and why I should play some other games? When I have valid reason to point out some real issues? I mean you didn’t buy a car just to leave it when it’s had some issues right? You would try to fix it, because the car is something special to you. And this is the case with elite for me, it’s a special game for me, but I’m not blinded by the love for it, and ignoring bugs which are overspan a whole gameplay loop from the new DLC (salvage missions).

They deliver this dlc with this type of missions and they are broke, so I can expect that they are fixing these things. Since EDO has arrived it has made a good step in the right direction, but they had often forgotten (ignoring) some bugs which each update. I mean come on, it couldn’t be standard, that elite is after every update broken again due to some new major bugs, and we have to wait again over a month for a hotfix. It is simple, release update and fixes for the game, after a few days hotfix, perhaps another hotfix and then it’s goes further, but in elite it’s in this way: update which brings new bugs, one hotfix, one server side fix, that was all, some older bugs or other bugs will stay.

What I trying to tell is, they should focus on some major bugs from the past, just blasting out with new reused asset for the narratives and recycled mission gamplay mechanics didn’t fix the gameparts which is necessary. Not everybody is participating to the war, and a whole update about war and bugfixing the outcomes from the related update shows the direction, and I really hope when update 15 hit the ground in April, it will bring some urgend needed fixes for long term bugs and the list is long. Another update which only focus on its new content and ignoring older bugs, didn’t help make the core experince to be better, is simply not the best way for elite. I mean, that was the reason for the cancellation of the consoles, so speaking for myself I can expect major improvement for the pc version.

I dont have this issue but I did just take a load of "restore power" missions in a previously thargoid attacked system. Every one of them had power already and I had no way to fix that issue. Enter the power facility (they shoot you even with 3 level access". So I had to give up all 4 missions and get a 400k fine.

Very frustrating

I had the same problem when tried. Abandoned the missions, paid the fine and moved on. To continue enjoying the game.

I had two salvage missions yesterday that I had to relog on one and supercruise out and back on the other one.

Luckily the mission items spawned on the first retry in both cases.

I'm not usually anywhere near that lucky with these missions...many times I've given up before the mission items spawned...

YES FDEV, PLEASE FIX THE BUGS!!!
