Missions still buged 3/4 months later

Is sooooo g irritating. And to be honest I don't see them getting fixed in 2.1, anyone else losing faith in frontier?

PS: Does anyone know or have noticed a way to tell or avoid what missions will lead to this garbages that force you to log out? I know to stay away from multipart missions but when I take a mission that looks to be a single objective once I go to turn it in, it either asks me to do more, or just gets stuck and forces me to log out.

No. I'd love to see you in a restaurant though:

Athanos: I'd like the stew please.
Waiter: Certainly. We're having some problems though, so it'll be 40 minutes.

38 minutes later:
Athanos: I STILL DONT HAVE MY STEW, I AM LOSING FAITH IN THE COOK!!!!

^yall at frontier are trippin if you seriously think FRE@king is a bad word... seems to be going totally communistic around here.

Capitalist USA currently has way more 'think of the children' censorship than any communist state ever had. :)

only irritating thing about elite is that we get these kinda of stupid rantings each and evry day...
is 2.1 out yet, or how else can you say it aint fixed?

PS. i have done loads of missions and have NEVER been in a situation where a bug forced me to do said things... perhaps im just smarter than some avoiding the very few ones that might not work, or i was lucky. most other missions DO work extremly well.. period! stop spreading bull....

At least for me, if the update 2.1 does not fix the missions in the game and even improve them is the end of the line. Faith I already lost updates ago.

I just don't do missions. Stopped about a year ago.

I believe there is one scenario where you have to log out: its when you are in a multi-part mission where you try to accept the next step after the timer has expired. 'accept' will be greyed out, so you need to log and just abandon the mission. You already failed the mission, so I dont consider it to be 'sooooooooooo irritating' as the OP considers it to be. Then again, I guess I didnt find reading a basic history book 'soooooooo irritating' either. ;)

lol! on point.

OP? You're not from around these parts, are you mate? All I'll say is be careful or you'll get some of the fanboy muppets planning their vengeance! Try punching their grandmothers in the face for a better reception! :p

Yeah I've seen that before. only problem is this is happening to me on missions that are not or do not claim they are multipart. thus the soooooooo irritating part.

Wondered about that. Tried to stay away from those multimission jokes that lead to no profit and a bad attitude, but got hooked in another that didn't specify such until I arrived at the first destination. That was the last login to ED. Haven't found a reason to log back in again.

Same here! :)
...though...I am less and less interested in playing the game lately...I wish things could be developed / bugs be fixed / mechanisms be tweaked faster. :-(

Take Power Play for instance. There are so many things, so easy to tweak, to make it so much more enjoyable, or freshen it a bit. Nobody wants to play the same game for a year, right? And when on top of this the main mechanism is the grind, which is full of bugs that people have been complaining for months / almost a year...

Same with the CGs. Those are still using the same flat mechanisms. They do not even take advantage of new mechanisms introduced (like NPCs able to interdict other NPCs). The same grind while they could be so much more creative!

I am not complaining. No game had been able to keep me playing for more than a year. I am just sad since it could be so much better.

I think there is a subtle difference between:

1) I want it to be so much better
2) I can imagine what would make it so much better
3) It could be so much better

To be precise: the latter is a bit more restrained by time/money and such. Not that I disagree with the general sentiment, but I dont think there its wise to be saddened when reality does not reach the levels of our imagination.

Well, I am not about screaming to add content and blah blah.
There have been a lot of good suggestions, easy to implement since based on existing mechanisms / tools which just need a few tweaks to make them more enjoyable / viable.

As for the bugs, I work in software support and cooperate daily with our Development team. The time it takes to fix a few bugs in ED, discovered for some a year ago, is just outrageous.

And about the sadness, since I started playing the game, I used to think month after month that this will be improved, that will be fixed... I lost hope, but kept playing the game by dealing with it.

1: look at 2.1 news...
2: forum filters are uber sensitive everywhere it is the forum software more then it is frontier.

3: which missions are you finding bugged?

I never bothered with Power Play or CQC either.

FD talks "Mission Fixes" just about every release cycle, but in truth I thought they weren't bad at all during Premium Beta and then they just went downhill from there. It was a much simpler time, to be fair, but doing missions was fun, relevant, and were pretty well matched to what you needed back then to make some progress.

I used to love the ones with 10 mins left that you basically could only do if you didn't get interdicted.

FD does a lot of things right - missions just isn't one of them.

They really need to hire someone with some imagination and creativity that can reall develop some fun and interesting stuff.

I'm currently out exploring, pretty far out. How exciting it is to come upon cannisters of cargo at wreck sites that aren't of ANY value in comparison to how taking it would reduce my jump range. Really? I should scoop canisters to haul around on a 130KLY exploration run?

Like Chris Burman and Tom Jackson would say,

"COME ON MAN!"

other than that I agree :D

Yep. Pretty sad to realize that the major updates, which should have changed the face of the game, are actually just really good at nothing but selling the game to new players, while existing players only wish to have the existing game fixed and tweaked.

But wait, i don't want to rant / complain here...I'm out of this thread.

Wow... usually people are too stupid to consider that they will be fixed in 2.1, but now we have someone who is aware of 2.1 that isnt aware of mission revamp and the confirmation of fixed missions?

And here we have someone who apparently doesn't know how many times we've been told that by Fd.

After a while, you don't judge, you just wait for FD to actually show you.

It's hype pre-beta phase. Everyone optimistic and thrilled by new shiney.

Then comes beta and bug reporting.

Then comes release.

Then comes, "Wow, they didn't fix it, but I reported it in beta."

Then comes the realization that the pre-release hypye just didn't live up to expectations.

Then comes whinning/fanboi defense phase.

So it goes...
