Mixing Engineering Upgrades

Why can we only have ONE type of upgrade on a module?

Why not a mix of upgrades with a little bit from column A and column B?

All this comes at a cost of course since we would need ALL materials for ALL the upgrades we want to do at once.

And while some combinations can be very good they would all come with the combined drawbacks of ALL the upgrades but at most only the best upgrade options from ONE of them.

Combinations and Limitations
- The total upgrades value can be higher than rating 5 (multiple rating 5 combined)

- You cannot have MORE upgrades than the engineer can apply

- You cannot have a higher rating of each upgrade than the engineers rating

- You CAN combine modifications that are opposites (Short vs Long range for example)

- Only the upgrades that engineer can give can be applied in combination

- Only the HIGHEST bonus apply to one attribute

- But ALL negatives apply to all attributes combined

- If the total bonus after reduction of negative multipliers have been added is higher than the highest rating applicable to an upgrade the maximum is then limited to the highest applicable number instead.

- Integrity penalty: Due to the extreme tinkering each modification AND RATING reduce the total integrity of a module by 5% each (so 5 rating 5 upgrades on one module would reduce integrity by -125%. The equipment becomes extremely sensitive with all those changes.

- If the total integrity would be reduced by -100% the upgrade cannot be applied (because it would be a broken module with ZERO integrity...)

Examples
The examples below are with PERFECT maximized engineering rolls so of course they might be seem unbalanced in some cases.

So a perfect rolled Professor Palin engine which we can call the Reinforced Thermal Filtered Boosted Thruster since it would be Clean R5 / Dirty R5 and Reinforced R5 would have:

Integrity: +12 (-90% due to X3 Rating 5 upgrades)
Mass: +20%
Opt.mass: -10%
Opt.Multi: +30
Power Draw: +24%
Thermal Load: -60%

But lets say we take a Reinforced Clean drive 5?

Integrity: +34 (-60% due to X2 Rating 5 upgrades)
Mass: +20%
Opt.mass: -5%
Opt.Multi: +13
Power Draw: +16%
Thermal Load: -60%

Or what about a "clean" dirty drive 5 with some shielding to handle heat management.

Integrity: -68% (-60% due to X2 Rating 5 upgrades)
Mass: -
Opt.mass: -10%
Opt.Multi: +30%
Power Draw: +24%
Thermal Load: -20%

Felicity Farseer with a "All you can eat" FSD with everything and the kitchen sink would have:

Boot time: -80%
Integrity: +11% (-90% due to X3 Rating 5 upgrades)
Mass: +25%
Opt.mass: +42%
Power Draw: +20%
Thermal Load: -25%
