MM One Project - 3D chair

Combine this with a centrifuge to be able to additionaly simulate more G. High acceleration and sudden stops may be problems hard to solve. Still no 0G simulation...

They could have a gas mask and start adding more c02 into the oxygen causing lightheadedness or n20 lol ;)

The birdsnest of cables that this would make of my HOTAS would make me cry :D Feasibly to integrate though, just socket on the chair itself - I see they're using wireless in the video.

EDIT: Needs somewhere to mount the IR camera for headtracking too - would need to be attached to the chair.

Looks like fun but I wonder if it has a more traditional simulator motion option?

Spinning around like that may be fun in the turns in a terrestrially based plane, but the real gravity you feel will always be pulling you towards the ground no matter which way you are orientated.

In the demo it seemed to be responding to yaw, pitch and roll movement but not moving up and down, left and right, forward and backward in space.

Hard to tell without sitting in the seat but I wonder if it could tilt to give you the impression of inertia/centripetal force rather than just spinning you around?

Couldn't you just use really long cables and remember the maximum number of turns in any one direction? (Kidding).

You make a very good point though. There must be contacts that control the movement of each joint that connect through the joints no matter how much they move, perhaps they could also be used to transmit usb signals otherwise it is all going to need to be wifi?

Could you mount the IR camera on the headrest behind the seat head rest or does it need to be in front/side?
