MMO Ship = Character (Ship Versions, Upgrading and Unique Items)

Been playing a week so thought I drop a few opinions from a long time mmo player.

With the sandbox mmo style of the game. The ship is what interacts with the game world. That means the ship really is the player characters in mmo terms. Currently the connection with ships is a little limited to what you would expect in a sandbox mmo. As it is now you level swap ship and work towards an anaconda. Your ship never becomes that millenium falcon, beat up modded to excess and yours.

Id suggest a couple of different versions of each of the starter ships. With a few minimal differences but enough to give a sense of progress and ability to reach similar levels of effectiveness as the end game ships.
Also far more customization of ships with the ability to increase the effectiveness of even the basic ships the more time you spend in them. Either from longterm reputation goals that provide stacking benefits to the ship or unique/degradable items from community events.

Nah. I role play and my ship is not my character and I dont see any kind of end game really.

Its what I do that matter rather than what I own.

Have fun sir :)

I'm not a fan up heavy ship upgrades. More ships, maybe. Mk II, Mk III, Mk IV, etc.

Also, it's a bit of a stretch to define this game as an MMO. By definition, the Massively element of MMO refers to one persistent world that all players log into and interact with simultaneously. We have two partitions to that (solo + group), not to mention all the instancing.
