Moar Guns Needed

Seriously, we need more guns.

Yes, first we need armour to mean something so we can armour tank but we really need more guns.

-Burst Firing Light Cannon - The stepping stone between Multi-Cannon and Cannon [Exists as MEDIUM and LARGE weapon]

-Plasma Repeater - The Thermal version of the Multi-Cannon derived from the Plasma Accelerator but miniaturized - overheats faster and demands more energy AND ammunition

-Charge Laser - A HUGE burst laser with a charge up time similar to a railgun

-Medium Multi-Gun Turret - Medium turret that holds X2 small guns [Drawback - Twice as fast overheat]
-Large Multi-Gun Turret - Large turret that holds X3 small guns [Drawback - Three times as fast overheat]
-Huge multi...you get the point...



i agree still not a lot of weapons. im all for more weapons and alien weapons.
 
I would settle for some more ammo for many of the weapons we already have. The low limits on Railguns etc prevent me from using them. I just don't want to dock every 2 or so encounters.
 
Ah yes, forgot that one.

Particle Projection Cannon - Or rather, a particle projection BEAM.

Designed to basically fry the enemy ship by heating up the components and hull.
Weapon Type: Beam Laser
Type: Thermal
Shield Damage: Beam Laser Size +1
Hull Damage: ZERO [Replaces Hull Damage With Heat Damage/Increase On Enemy]

Also, on another note:

Ammunition Types [Multi / Cannon / Frag]

High-Explosive Rounds: +1 Damage to Shields / -1 Damage to Hull
SABOT Rounds: -1 Damage to Hull / +1 Damage to Modules
Thermal Rounds: -1 Damage Shield/Hull / +2 Heat on enemy
EMP Rounds: -1 Damage Hull/Shield/Module / Causes Module Malfunction
Seeker Rounds: -1 Overall Damage but increased tracking of target

The game lacks a lot of options and something between the dakka of the multicannon and silly slow projectiles of the cannon is sorely needed.
 
In a vacuum, acceleration will be constant. that's like elementary-level physics. Ballistic refers to the lack of thrust after the initial body begins motion where the only force acting on the body during motion is then gravity. It's weird because you then state this and unintentionally agree with what i said in your second sentence.

Your missile has thrust, so not only is it accelerating, but the acceleration is increasing while thrust is applied. In this case, missile acceleration is not constant (yet it probably is in the game as the game clamps velocity for a number of reasons ...most of which is physics collision detection).

I think you're confusing constant acceleration with constant velocity. The statements I made were in regard to FD clamping velocity and ignoring the real physics of a kinetic body in space and it's impact on velocity (which always increases due to constant acceleration) and damage which would increase as kinetic energy increased (momentum).

Please stop, that's embarrassing.

It's pretty bad with Rails, it's absolutely ridiculous with Frag Cannons! I take Rails on assassinations anyway, love 'em.
