These are to suggestions I have for Elite atm. This idea came to me now that I'm away from home for the holidays and I can't play Elite. So I figured since there's already an app (which need to be fixed please and brought to Android) there should be some sort of off game play that doesn't need to be in depth but something to help do something in game while we're no able to play. My idea as to what can be done is add a system that allows you to hire an NPC to make deliveries for you. Depending on how skilled they are would determine the price you pay them to ship something to you and make it there safely.
To make it fair and more realist, you can only do this if you logged out while docked at a station and depending on what station it is determines the NPC you can hire. As well as what that commodity market has for you to ship. I figure, with paying the NPC and calculating you earnings from having them sell something for you and/or bring something so you can sell at the station you're at, it'll make it so doing it yourself is that best way still. Also, depending on how skilled the NPC, there could be like a chance they get attack by pirates and if you paid for a more skill for NPC they'll have a high chance of escaping with you load intact. Lastly hauls with NPC can have wait times for them to finish, so depending how far the station is from your current station times can vary.
Even though written down seems like a lot, I feel it doesn't need to be overly complicated and just a simple little system we could use so when we're out of town, or our in-laws come over, and we can't play we could open the app and have this little bit of satisfaction that we are still in out Elite Universe. Though I'd just settle for being able to see the commodity markets i'm at and near by on my phone so I can plan trade routes while I can't play!
