For the past month, I have been playing PZ with two lovely mods.
Being cautious, I had the mods in only one zoo, so before updating to 1.6 and the Africa DLC, I deleted my two modded animals from the habitat and tradecenter of that zoo. Then I deleted their folders from the ovldata section of my computer.
Unfortunately my first three attempts to launch the game resulted in an immediate white Crash screen.
I re-checked the ovldata folder... and saw that the modded animals had returned to the folder.??? Zombie mods..??
I deleted them again, this time restarted Steam, and tried to launch the game. Immediate white Crash screen. Checking ovldata... there they were, the two modded animals, back again??
I deleted them yet again, but this time also emptied my Recycle bin and Restarted my computer. Checked the ovldata... yay, no mods! And my game launched with no problem.
Modding experts.... do you know which was my problem: that I had failed to empty my Recycle bin, or that I had failed to Restart my computer, or both? I'd like to be sure to do it right for next time!
